Some Odd Girl Unicorn Digi Altered Book

I have had so much fun coloring in this beauty of a digi Pretty Unicorn from Some Odd Girl.  Typically I shy away from animal stamps, but who can resist this beautiful Some Odd Girl Unicorn digi.  I pulled out my Copic markers and went for it.  I did initially have rainbow colors in the mane, but I switched it as I felt there was too much color going on.  I can't believe I just said that....too much color! :)  Never! :) But alas this time yes..too much color.  I had to tone it down.  I went with blue as I wanted to add a hint of purple in the mane.
I then used a Fabriano drawing book my husband gave me for Christmas and went to town with it.  Having my Silhouette Cameo next to me made the entire project possible...well, okay, not possible but definitely faster.
Love how it turned out!  I am so happy with my new altered drawing book.

Are you ready for Canada Day?

Today is another sunny, beautiful day in the Valley.  Hope it continues like this for Canada day.
Rain rain stay away! :)

Have you seen the new Canada day digis from My Whimsical Little World?  Super cute little characters that would be perfect for a card or even a scrapbook layout.  Oliver can be used with or without the maple leaf.  Annabelle is all set for Canada day holding her flag and sparkler.  Their pal Freddie the beaver is also ready to help celebrate the day.

I colored them using my Copics and pulled out yummy paper from my Echo park solid distress paper.  I am also finally using the washi tape. :)  I am no longer a washi tape hoarder! :)
To create my card with Annabelle.  I followed a sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.  Great site that has challenges and a slew of wonderful sketches that will inspire you.

For Oliver I wanted to use him for a home decor piece.  The frame is perfect and I did not have to do a thing to it.  Thank you IKEA! :)  What is fun about Oliver, is that you do not have to use the maple flag on his shirt or firework.  You can add what you like or leave it blank.

For Freddie I also use a sketch by The Deconstructed Sketch.  Notice how I also used more washi tape. :)  hehehe
Today is the last day to get Freddie the beaver for free!  Either click on his name or image to get your freebie.

Summer reading with Reading Tia

I have a short read list for this summer and as much as I want to sit and read forever and a day.  Children and life are first. :)  To help keep my place I made this adorable book mark with "Reading Tia" digi stamp from the Some Odd Girl shop.   She is perfect for a bookmark! I made the itty bitty tassle with the pink Bamboo twine in the Odds & Ends shop.  To seal it and protect my brand new Reading Tia bookmark, I will laminate it after I shoot it. :)

Oliver & Annabelle Are Ready for Canada Day!

I am so excited. Terribly excited! I’m going digital with my drawings. My studio will never be the same! I have so many drawings, but not all can be digis and some I may have to redraw.  I’m on a digi mission and nothing will get in my way! When I was a girl I drew Garfield sketches again and again. My sister and I would enter drawing contests for the Sunday comics. Through the years that followed I could never stop drawing. Art has always been such a huge part of my life. I cannot imagine a day without creating something artistic, even if it is only just a doodle. For eventually that doodle will inspire me to create something bigger and brighter!

Just a couple more weeks and the skies will light up with brilliant colors! I can't wait for the fireworks! I can't wait to celebrate Canada Day! What better way to celebrate than making cards for friends and loved ones with My Whimsical Little World’s NEW Canada Day digi stamp release! Today's release is Oliver & Annabelle and their little pal Freddie the beaver. They are ready for Canada Day, showing their Canadian pride with sparklers and flags. I think Oliver wants to set off some fireworks too. :)  To purchase Oliver or Annabelle head on over to Paola's Papers or click on their names and it will take you there directly.

Freddie The Beaver
For a limited time (until June 20) you can get Freddie the Beaver for free (Click Freddie's name for the file)! All that I ask is that you pin my images and respect the terms of use. Thank you

Playing with hair Summer Journal

I really had a lot of fun with the challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Facebook group.  The hair had to be a different color or colors.  Now that is a challenge for me1  I really wanted to give her pink hair but it would not go with my papers that I needed to use for the project I had in mind. So I stayed in the pink family but went a little darker using the C7 to shadow the hair.  She turned out super cute! I am really pleased with the results and the next one I will use two colors...that's right two colors! I can do this. :)

I used Polka dot pal Amy and add on faces.  I am still practicing that amazing freehand technique.  Sometimes I just like to have it done for me. :)

I knew that I wanted to make a journal for my daughter so that she could  write down her summer adventures.  I used a mole skin journal and decorated the front using Bo Bunny paper* (modern days) and die cuts from Taylored Expressions*.  I think she is going to like it and I hope she does not run out of pages, because I plan on keeping her very busy this summer. :)

*Bo bunny paper and Taylored Expressions die cuts( fence and hill)  are available in the studio.  Message me for details.

Cookies & Milk? Yes Please!

It’s that time again!  Some Odd Girl Clear Stamp release! Yay!  I love the start of a month.
This month is such a treat! :)
Check out the new Cookies n Milk clear stamp set!  I absolutely adored the moustache! I thought it was perfect for the milk carton.
Once again I was busy in the studio.  Here is my treat for you! Actually I made this stand for my youngest daughter who has been on a whirlwind of baking cookies this past month. She is getting pretty good at it!

I found an inexpensive pastry stand and gave it a sweet make over. :)  I used both the new stamps from the Cookies n Milk clear stamp set and paired it off with the sweet sentiment “We Go Together” that also comes with the set.  The heart shape stamp is also part of this very cute set.
Hope you liked my treat!

In case you did not know, a new linky party  has started over at the Some Odd Girl Blog
