Digi Me Contest Some Odd Girl

This is so exciting!  Kristy Dahlman, designer of Some Odd Girl is running a Digi me contest!  Head on over to the SOG blog for details on what you need to do to enter this AWESOME contest.

Now....If I could have Kristy draw me in her style, I would be a Mae character.
The digi would reflect my inner me, (But then, let's face it, my outer me can't compete with the inner me. LOL)  My hair would resemble the image below and my clothes would follow the lead of the Blythe further down. I know, I know. What can say I say? I'm cute!,  hahaha  I love color and comfort, and I'm a kid at heart.  The image of the doll below screams "me": leggings, red Doc Martens boots, and over-sized arms (well, admittedly mine aren't quite so long, but there would be some holes for the thumbs.

I would also love to see my character standing off-center from an easel with a blank canvas so that it can be edited with other digis from Kristy's digi stamps.  It would be even more amazing to see her draw  a studio background, filled with empty canvas to place images in. :)
The artist in me needs to be constantly creating and ruining all my cute clothe.

The More You Know, The More You Grow!

This week's focus is learning :)  The more you know...the more you grow! :)

Whether it's learning from your laptop or from books.  My son loves to go on his Chrome book and soak up information, World wide news, sports and on occasion some celebrity gossip LOL.  He is a fountain of information and I love that he has such a thirst for knowing everything that is going on not just in his neighborhood.  My youngest on the other hand does not like to read, however this year I am trying to motivate her ....bribe her actually and hope that she falls in love with books like I did when I was little.  Maybe a new book mark with "Read a Book" digi stamp will make it fun for her.

Now...I couldn't make up my mind which digi to go with, Delilah or Jules. I ended up drawing two with slightly different looks. :)  Hope you like Delilah, Jules and Read A Book digi stamps.  Let's see what DT members created with these cuties.

Paola
I had a ton of fun coloring and creating these three cards.  Read A Book pop-out book card was a tricky project to put together, but I am very happy with the end result.  I purchased the pop-out card and the sentiment at the Silhouette America store.  The title on the book is a rub on from Tim Holtz.  The paper is very unique and I think I will have to hunt down some more of this yummy paper.

I made the Hello There card with Bo Bunny Bunny paper, and I used the die set from Mama Elephant. What a perfect die set! It has everything I need to create a card super fast and simple, and it always turns out beautiful.  I hope Mama Elephant makes more die cut sets like these.  The book shelf stamps are from Simon Says Stamp card kit.  I am organizing my kits so that I can get more use out of them. :)

Make sure to come by My Whimsical Little World's Facebook group  and join in the fun.  We have a Halloween challenge going on until Oct 8.  Purple, Green and orange. :)
We will also have a challenge for your chance to win a laptop girl of your choice. So make sure to head on over to the Facebook group and join.

It's animal day at My Whimsical Little World! :)

I think some of the new MWLW digis noticed that it's starting to get cold in most parts. We have three adorable penguin digi stamps to share with you: Tooey, Ping├╝ino and Pablo.   My favorite animal when I was a child was the elephant. What an amazing animal!  I just had to draw my favorite animal eating my favorite treat...meet Cupcake Wishes.  Our fifth digi stamp is a Curious Kitty Cat.  He just can't help but be himself, and he is pretty darn cute doing just that!  If you would like to color these little guys, head on over to Paola's Papers.

Here is what some of our DT members did with this week's animal digi stamps.  Click on each member's name to see more of her work.

Some Odd Girl Clear Stamp Release Yeti

Day 2 of an AWESOME product release from Some Odd Girl!
Watch out, there's a Yeti in town!  Can he be any cuter! :)

I thought he was perfect for this gift box I made for my daughter.  The sentiment "I believe in you"  was also quite fitting for the occasion.  My daughter is always experimenting when she is baking, but what she makes is not always yummy uh-hum... so I put together a no fail package of cookie mix for her.  I used clear stamp "Yeti" to give some encouragement and used the sentiment to inspire her.  The paper is from Some Odd Girl new paper collection, and at the SOG shop you will find lots of new embellishments that coordinate with the clear stamps and paper pad.

Some Odd Girl Clear Stamp Release Sweater Kaylee

Hi Everyone!
Paola here with Some Odd Girl clear stamp release "Sweater Kaylee".  She is utterly adorable in her gorgeous sweater and winter boots.  I had so many ideas buzzing in my head on what to create with her...This week I altered a mini notebook.  I made a pink band for the book to hold a mini pen. The paper is perfect for this type of project.  Scores like butter! :)
The center of attention is Sweater Kaylee clear stamp and sentiment "Close Knit Friends" that comes with her, as well as the cute stitching marks.  The yummy paper is a new collection from Some Odd Girl shop.  I love the rich color and fun designs.  I also used the wood veneer hexagons that are now also available at the shop.

To keep my project together I used glue from Beacon Adhesives.  Pretty strong glue!

MWLW Halloween Digi Release Is Finally Here! :)

52 days until Halloween!! Halloween Halloween Everybody Scream! :)

I adore Halloween and go Chevy Chase with it.  So it comes as no surprise that when I started drawing Halloween characters I could not stop and ended up with several.  Two of the digis, the lion and the dragon, were inspired by my eldest son when he was a little ankle biter.  Many moons ago I made my son costumes like this, and he looked so adorable.  The baby Lion so reminds me of him and that moment.

There are seven digis in total this week and one is a freebie, details below.  The My Whimsical Little World digi stamps are ...Baby Lion, Alexander The Great Dino, Robby The Robot, Candy Apple, Home Before Midnight, Halloween Fence and Halloween Cupcake.

I just love what the DT member have done with these adorable stamps.  Click on the DT member names to visit their blogs for more inspiration.

Also, head on over to MWLW Facebook group to enter our purple, orange and green challenge. While you are at My Whimsical Little World Facebook group find the post to grab your free digi.   You can only get the free digi by asking for it at the Facebook Group and being a member of the group.

Here is what I made showcasing the Sunshine Sorbet paper collection.  I kept it very simple and clean so you can see the paper and how beautifully it all coordinates together.
To keep it all together I used glue from Beacon Adhesives.  Pretty strong glue!  It's now a staple at my craft table! :)

No Line Coloring with SOG Clear Stamp Big Day Tobie

It's Saturday! Playtime in the Studio. :)
I have many projects on the go this weekend, and here is what I worked on this week.  A masculine no line coloring birthday card.  When I first tried this technique over a year ago, I thought no way.  Too hard!  So I didn't attempt for a very long time...but after some Googling and asking Kristy, the designer of Some Odd Girl, questions about what inks to use for no line coloring, I went for it.  I've been hooked since.  It has a very different look to it....like a storybook feel.  I like it! :)

I used clear stamp "Big Day Tobie" for my birthday card and Desert Sand ink from Memento to stamp him on my Copic paper.

Don't miss out on today's SOG release party at Facebook!  It starts at 3pm EST and ends at 6.  Hope to see you there! :)
